Atmospheric Spiral Light by AdamLamp

Christmas is coming. I have already bought all gifts, but it's not the gifts I am going to write about today. It's Christmas atmosphere.

What makes it so special – so different from other feast days? My senses give me the answer. For me these are:

  • The smell of Christmas tree, borsch and pierogies with sauerkraut and mushrooms.
  • The sound of jingles and Christmas old-school hits in small doses (I try to avoid malls in December not to overdose).
  • The touch of snow on my face (I am still awaiting this year).
  • And the look of the decorative lights.

So, what would be the best way to recall Christmas atmosphere off the season? I am not keen on cooking and I wouldn't sacrifice another fir the same year. I also cannot rely on weather. The songs are not enough. Definitely the lights are best idea. Of course I don't intend to be so literal to decorate a house with little star-shaped lights. I've got something better on my mind. Original and functional Inflatable furniture for outdoor and indoor use

What comes first into your mind when you think “inflatable”? Summer, mattress, sun, ball, breasts, softness? Only pleasant and relaxing things. What about “inflatable furniture”?

During the last few years some designers and furniture producers made the attempts to convince us that inflatable furniture doesn't have to be cheap, tacky or impractical. That they are not condemned to be swimming pool accessories. And some of them succeeded. Starting with Via Lattea collection by Mario Bellini for Meritalia, through  Blow Sofa and Armchair by Malafor, ending with Blofield Air Design and their Chesterfield collection (to mention only few of them). They not only proved that air furniture can be aesthetic and original but also functional (comfortable, easy to inflate, deflate and store) and eco friendly due to the slashed carbon footpint (as they are light and easy to ship).

Now, I can add Sylwia Kaden and her Inflatable to this list.

Multifunctional tree grid and bench – new idea for enriching public spaces by mmcité.

Now, little change of topic and surroundings. I don't know about the weather in your city/country but in Poland its autumn time. It is quite fickle and sometimes unpleasant, however its very beautiful – when it's not raining. Colourful trees invite to go for a walk and the parks and promenades invite … to develop them a bit better. Below, you would find a nice concept of mmcité, design studio from Czech Republic, which specialises  in designing elements of public spaces such as: bus and bicycle shelters, park benches, litter bins, ashtrays, bollards, tree grids, planters etc.

Illuminant cobblestone Bruklux by K&K Products. The unique outdoor illumination.

And once again I am writing about lighting. And once again it is not an usual one. This time I got enlightened by illuminant cobblestone Bruklux designed by Paweł Karaś and Wojciech Kuglarz for K&K Products. The value of this unique concept lies in the innovative approach for the need of road and pavement illumination and linking it with advanced electronics.
